Benefit Cosmetics for HEMYCA at Vauxhall Fashion Scout

A futuristic presentation for this hot design duo. To get the look, Rachel Wood used bright orange face paint across the eyelids and punctuated with lots of sparkle for Benefit Lust Dusts
Benefit Cosmetics for Alice Palmer at Vauxhall Fashion Scout

For the 3rd season running, Benefit is the official makeup sponsor for Vauxhall Fashion Scout. We’re backstage with lead makeup artist Rachel Wood getting all the key makeup looks for SS10.
The Alice Palmer show was all about gorgeous knitwear in strong metallic shades. We spoke to Rachel backstage and she told us: “I have created a textured metallic look by playing with a combination of creams and powders which compliment the clothing well”.
Margaret Howell SS10 Women’s Show

Margaret Howell’s SS10 ready to wear show had quite a turnout with Erin O’Connor and Alexa Chung gracing the front row. Held in Howell’s flagship store in Wigmore Street, the nautical theme of the collection was introduced by the sound of seagulls.
The collection itself had a laid back seaside approach with Breton-style inspired stripes. Shades of blues, white, and beige formed the colour palette. The silhouette and key pieces encompassed loose fits, high waisted trousers, oversized jackets and elegant one-piece swimwear. Classic Howell!

Lacoste SS10 Runway Show

Lacoste kicked off New York fashion week on a boardwalk style catwalk, bursting with a vibrant symphony of colour.
An upbeat soundtrack set the tone as Lacoste paid homage to tennis with elegant timeless pieces for men and women in a contemporary colour spectrum.
Inspired by 1920s images from Jacques-Henri Lartigue, the relaxed collection from Creative Director Christophe Lemaire included the ubiquitous Lacoste polo’s alongside clean cut high waisted trousers, skater style pleated skirts, light cotton safari jackets, lightweight blue denim harem style trousers and single breasted denim jackets.
Simple sporty chic was the rule of the day with wearable, modern and unstructured pieces perfect for a sultry summer, met with enthusiasm from the young rock royalty front row which included Pixie and Peaches Geldof, Alice Dellal, Ruby Stewart and Mischa Barton.
Lacoste successfully dragged us out of our winter blues - and pointed us in the bright and breezy direction of spring.

A La Mod[us] : Looks of the Week

Do you hear that?... No? Exactly. As the month of August winds down, it has become clear that we’re somewhat in the middle of a so-called lame duck season as far as the world of fashion is concerned. It seems that all of Modus has gone back to basics with their style this past two weeks as they prepare themselves for the ensuing September chaos that will inevitably accompany London Fashion Week.
So enjoy the quietness, neutral colours and lazy days while they last and pray that earplugs are in this fall. The Modus landscape and the weekly looks are about to get a whole lot louder.
