MOROCCANOIL ON THE RED CARPET WITH NAOMI WATTS

image

Naomi Watts seems to keep getting more beautiful by the day. Supporting Liev Schreiber, at his premiere for Salt on Monday night, Naomi looked beyond fabulous as she showcased a shorter, dramatic new blunt bob with layered side-swept fringe.

Inspired by the lines of the metallic strapless Gucci mini-dress that Naomi wore, hairstylist Robert Vetica created a sleek look that referenced 60¹s British pop with a Studio 54 vibe refined by a soft, natural mood.

A LA MODUS…WHETHER THE WEATHER

image

I don’t think anyone knows how to dress in this weather.
I walk to work in the morning clutching my jacket for dear life, fighting back the winds attempt to Marilyn Monroe me to the whole of West London and by mid-day I’m practically melting into my desk chair!
This lot seems to have got it down though – from ladies in their easy-breezy summer dresses to the gents with their rolled up trousers and peek-a-boo socks… It’s looking like whether it’s rain or shine, Modettes can um…weather…the…weather.

PRINGLE OF SCOTLAND ARCHIVE PROJECT

image

Pringle of Scotland are going to be forming their archive for the first time in their history and are appealing to the nation, particularly the Scottish, to contribute anything relating to the history of Pringle. Whether this be a vintage piece of clothing, old photographs of people wearing Pringle, or even anecdotes from people who have worked for or with the brand over the years.

With 195 years of history, they are one of the oldest fashion / apparel brands in the country, and particularly noted in history for introducing the Argyle print and the Twin Set.
The brand in recent years has gone through a re-positioning campaign to become a luxury designer fashion house focused on its heritage, this is a truly unique democratic-style project where anyone is free to contribute anything related to Pringle’s history.

A ‘Day of Record’ will take place on 12th August in Pringle of Scotland’s factory in Hawick, where an Antiques Road Show-style day will invite local people to come and bring in their treasures and their memories.

MODUS PRESENTS… THE FUTURE OF DIGITAL

image

Today saw the inaugural event of a new creative forum from Modus – Modus Presents.  Modus Presents is designed to focus attention and discussion on subjects we find compelling, inspirational and essential. ‘The Future of Digital: Friend or Foe’ was the first of these events.

It was a bright and early start at The Club at The Ivy this morning, with a diverse cross section from the fashion, beauty, lifestyle and media industries with attendees from the British Fashion Council, Calvin Klein, Jaeger, L’Occitane, Pringle of Scotland and News International to name a few, all gathered to hear our first guest speaker Professor Jonathan Briggs.

Jonathan has 20 years’ experience in the digital field; Jonathan is a founder of Hyper Island - a Digital Media “university”, Strategic Director of the OTHER media, Professor of E-Commerce at Kingston University and has worked with a diverse range of clients, from the V&A and BAFTA to the Royal Academy of Arts and Paul Smith.

His aim today was to clear some of the muddy waters surrounding digital and digital engagement, and advise brands how to recognise and define their digital goals, invest wisely, involve their audience, and most importantly, measure and learn from their experiences.  Jonathan was a lively and engaging speaker who enthused his audience, stimulated debate, and was surrounded by inquisitors once the talk had finished.

We ‘re looking forward to the next Modus Presents…

WORLD OF CALVIN KLEIN BERLIN

image

Last night Calvin Klein’s creative directors, Francisco Costa, Italo Zucchelli and Kevin Carrigan hosted a unique fashion presentation to kick-off Spring 2011 Fashion Week in Berlin.

Held at Die Munze, a historic industrial building and one of the oldest and most important former mints in Germany.  This impressive landmark was transformed for the evening into a unique fashion experience that featured over 60 models from around the world.

Several of Calvin Klein’s current global advertising talent were in attendance, including: actress Diane Kruger, model Lara Stone, Twilight’s Kellan Lutz and actress Zoe Saldana, who was announced as the new face of women’s Calvin Klein Underwear at a press conference earlier that day.  All were wardrobed by Calvin Klein Collection.

A LA MODUS… HOT IN THE CITY

image

“Excuse me” I heard a gentleman say to my colleague as we sipped peach bellinis at our favourite after-work joint - piccolino, “I always see the most beautiful women coming out of your building, is it a modeling agency?”  I almost spit fruit bits all over the table at the very idea.  Then I took a quick scan around at the gaggle of gorgeous Modettes surrounding me in their vintage dresses, funky patterns and killer shoes and realized that, well, they may as well be!

Oh, wipe that look off your face. No one has ever accused a PR of being modest!
