Ferragamo Accessories AW08

image

‘Going back to the archives’ was the inspiration for the Ferregamo Accessories collection AW08.
A presentation took place at the Salvatore Ferragamo head office in Via Borgospesso. Platform tiered sandal and wedges inspired by Salvatore’s designs of the 30’s and 40’s were transported to silver, disco up-to-date versions.

Beautiful croc bags in an array of colours and leather were metallic, patent and suede. The Varina pump is the iconic Ferragamo pump and appeared in velvet, suede and satin with a new colour palette of rich berry colours.

Bally AW08 Presentation

image

The delectable Brian Atwood presented his second collection as Creative Director for Bally in a suitably glamorous venue in Milan. With a nod to the 70s Bally showcased sexy stack-heeled boots and multi-buckle sandals alongside patent ostrich bags and courts in spicy tones whilst the models epitomized urban bohemia, dressed head to toe in chic hippy chiffon prints and shearling gilets.

For the jet set, the ultimate in sophisticated luggage - a matching set of suitcases, vanity case and every girl’s dream shoe case in a patent quilted leather or sumptuous velvet with monogrammed B logo. The essential arm candy for AW08? A pet carrier to match your luggage!

Can’t wait to see what delights Bally will come up with next season…

Puma / Central St Martins MA Show AW08

image

Modus Publicity ended its AW08 London Fashion Week with probably one of the most eagerly awaited shows – The Central Saint Martins MA Show sponsored by PUMA.  Editors were out in force to find the next big designer for London.  Celebrities were also interested in the show with front row celebrities including Christian Slater, Peaches Geldof, Erin O Connor, Lemar, Cassandra Hepburn and Linford Chrisitie.

PUMA were proud to be collaborating with Central Saint Martins MA Fashion Show at London Fashion Week 2008 for the second year running.

This season saw PUMA shortlist eight bag designs for the competition set with an Olympic theme and these were seen alongside tracksuits on the catwalk.  The 3 winning designers, Geroge Omerod, Sander Lac and joint winners Georgy B and Natasha Stolle, were announced by PUMA’s CEO Jochen Zeitz at the show.

Antoni & Alison (MBE’s) ~ A Spontaneous Piece of Work for Autumn / Winter 2008

image

Having worked with Antoni & Alison for the last 19 years, it’s always one of the shows I really look forward to.  I know that there will be something to amuse the press and challenge their perception.  This season was no exception.

Showing in a recently vacated Georgian terrace house opposite the tents, tea and biscuits were served on arrival, the guests were lead upstairs to a double height painter’s studio space and chairs were laid out in front of huge red velvet curtains.

After a brief introduction from the designers, the curtains were drawn to reveal 11 models with their backs to the audience - each girl turned around in order to face the guests and removed their head scarf.

Marchesa AW 08 Collection

image

On Wednesday, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig presented their new collection downtown at the Chelsea Arts Museum.  Catherine and I went along to support them.

There was a huge amount of buzz around the collection - limos lined the street.  Inside floor to ceiling drapes of pale grey fabric were used to create an intimate space where models posed on light-boxes and the guest walked through the dramatic spaces created.

The effect was an updated 1950’s couture salon feel - the dresses were beautifully crafted, the detail and make exquisite.  I couldn’t help wonder which of these gowns would make it down the red carpet and worn by which celebrities.

These are the sort of dresses that would make most women feel like a star.

Modus Dowal Walker SS08 Open Days

image

Wednesday and Thursday saw the Spring / Summer 08 Open Days at our HQ on Heddon Street.  After a herculian effort to make the showrooms look even more fabulous than normal, the place looked a million dollars (even if we do say so ourselves).

Over the two days we played host to well over 300 members of the press and stylists, introducing them to new collections, new product ranges and also an opportunity for clients to meet journalists directly.

Antoni & Alison SS08 Press Day

image

The Party continues…
Following on from the success of the 20th anniversary show at London Fashion Week Antoni and Alison decided to extend the party at their studio/house on Southwick Bridge Road.
Showcasing their SS/08 collection which includes paint-spattered smocks, sequin-detailed floor-length jersey dresses, pretty pink balloon knitwear and ‘the’ black finale pleated dress, which was a favourite of Nicole Kidman’s.
Along with archive pieces, artwork and cakes, this was a press day not to be missed.
“Turning 21 is going to be difficult,” Antoni laughed. “Maybe we’ll have to go back to being one, and start again from scratch.” Visit The House of Antoni & Alison for yourself at http://www.antoniandalison.co.uk to see what the pair will do next.

Lacoste SS08 Press Day

image

Celebrating their 75th anniversary, The presentation of the SS08 collection took place on the 30th October 2007 at the KBL offices as an early evening cocktail.  9PR laid a floor inspired by the original game of tennis - pelote Basque - which traced the history of the brand throughout the showroom and incorporated heritage images from the archives.

The atmosphere and theme of the New York show was translated into the static presentation, complete DJ set and canapes.  The key outfits from the show were worn by models who mingled with the press throughout the evening, as well as mannequins set throughout the showroom. Front facing displays in the showroom also showed key looks from the catwalk, allowing press to see the collection in detail.  The presentation included both footwear and bags to complete the Lacoste story for S08.
