Akris AW09

Showing in the Musee de L’Homme, press were not only treated to a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower but also saw a luxurious Akris Fall / Winter collection. Inspired by Architect Tatiana Bilbao and the pavilion in the Jinhua Architecture Park in China, Albert Kriemler designed a collection that referenced broken linearity, trapezoids and 3d textures.
Silhouettes were elegantly sculptural and sensually fitted with a colour palette of grey, black, cinzano and highlights of purple. Fabrics included signature double faced cashmere, embroidery on silk tulle and a digitized skyline print on silk tulle.

Etro Women’s AW09

Veronica Etro created a collection that embodied the essence of the Etro archives - recycling patterns, fabrics and techniques and reinterpreting them in a completely new and unusual way.
Inspiration from the Byzantine era is evident in the richly worked textures especially the richly beaded gold finale dress. A packed UK section of editors enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere and soundtrack by M.I.A and a world away from other sombre collections of the week.
Etro’s Autumn Winter silhouette is a sophisticated mix of 3/4 length tailored high waisted trousers teamed with cropped jackets and delicate mohair knits, elegant dresses embellished in print, fringing or beading teamed with killer heels and slouchy handbags.
Key jacket of the season is a patchwork jacket with tiny flakes of fabrics layered to look like scales - stunning!
