Toast, on Westbourne Grove, London opened its doors to the press to preview the Spring Summer 10 collections this week. Dark tropicals, ethnic tribal prints, sugary pastels and a sharp injection of yellow were just some of the key trends and summer must haves on show, all given the inimitable Toast twist. They heard of Toasts exciting plans to open more stores, particularly in Cheltenham where a new concept store is due to open on Feb 15th - taking over an entire regency building the store will be a visual feast housing all Toasts accessories, fashion and house & home collections as well as a ‘Toast Tea Room’ with resident giant gold loaf!

L’OCCITANE PEONY COLLECTION LAUNCH

image

It was a floral affair at today’s launch for the new Peony collection from L’Occitane in the Salle de Fete at Kettners.

There were squeals of delight all round as we previewed the new makeup and fragrance collection from the Provencal brand and had demonstrations from makeup artist Karen Alder.

Delicately scented blushers, lip glosses and eyeshadows were loved by all and the press couldn’t stop spritzing the fresh and floral Peony fragrance which launches in May.

PARIS - MENS - AW10 - MARGARET HOWELL - MAD RUSH OF JOURNALISTS

image

Mad rush of UK and French journalists - all loving the collection.

We see Gareth Scourfield, Senior Fashion Editor at Esquire, picking his favourite jumper from the collection…... as was Stephen Morriss, Freelance Stylist and Writer loving the Goretex jacket.
Mark Flemming, Head of Marketing and Communication at Margaret Howell in deep discussion about the collection with Catherine Hayward, Fashion Director at Esquire. And Ben Reardon, Editor of i-D, kindly modelling the press gift (knitted neck piece) and showing his feelings for a hobnail boot (from the collection).

MILAN - MENS - AW10 - CANALI CATWALK SHOW

image

Milan Mens - AW10 - Canali Catwalk Show from Modus Publicity on Vimeo.

Temperatures had plummeted the afternoon of Canali’s second catwalk show in Milan, but once inside the arena editors were distracted by llana Yahav, a sand artist who introduced each theme of the collection with a beautiful sand picture.  The Canali collection has evolved for Autumn / Winter 2010, shapes, lines, style and creativity for both the urban man with an eye for a trend as well as the more sophisticated and romantic,  all finished with the unmistakable quality and luxury of Italian made clothing.  2010 also sees the launch of the Kei collection that now includes beautifully tailored suits and overcoats and the ‘Milano’ collection with its sharp tailoring and unmistakable metropolitan personality.

MILAN - MENS - AW10 - DAVID SHRIGLEY’S FILM FOR PRINGLE

Ok, so this is one of our fashion clients, so we could be a little bias… however we were gripped this morning, raised to the front of our seats (front row of course) and compelled to laugh out loud.

This artist, not only has he produced a fine short film but has helped to add to the Pringle collection a creative argyll knit, and for London watchers, you will be able to see this in the windows of the Pringle New Bond Street store during London Fashion Week in February.
