Backstage at the Jaeger AW08 Catwalk Show

Jaeger London made it’s catwalk debut on the launch day of London Fashion Week.
The hugely anticipated show did not disappoint with a luxurious collection focused on sharp tailoring and gorgeous dresses.
Everyone then piled down to the Jaeger after party at hotspot Taman Gang in Mayfair for celebratory drinks with the fashion crowd.
Pay Attention at the Back! The Massed Ranks of Modettes Assemble at the Jaeger Show.
It took ages to get this photo, as none of them can sit still long enough. It was only allure of a Dunkin’ Doughnut held above the photographer’s head that finally allowed it to be taken.
Headsets At The Ready…. Seating Plans Finalised…. It Must Be London Fashion Week…
Whilst New York returnees Julian, Catherine and Sarah must feel like they’ve been parachuted straight onto the lawn in front of the tents at the Natural History Museum, here at Modus HQ we’ve been carfully planning our AW08 LFW campaign with military precision - which is just as well as we have ten shows to take care of….

Earnest Sewn - New York Showroom

Catherine and I went to meet up with our newest client Earnest Sewn. Their jeans are strong favourites with New York A-listers who want authentic denim. The store on Washington Street in the Meat Packing District opened in 2005 and a second store has recently opened in the very up and coming Lower East Side on Orchard Street.
This is such a fantastic company - with a huge commitment to doing one thing very well - making great products with denim. Scott Morrison formerly the designer / co-founder of paper Denim & Cloth is obsessed by denim, and pays incredible attention to detail. From the fabric used to the process of manufacture - truly impressive.
We had a very friendly welcome from Scott’s new Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy.
What The Front Row Are Talking About Today #4 - The New Apple Store on 14th St

Opened in December 07 this new store is open until Midnight Monday to Saturday.
Incredible to see people at all hours coming out with the latest ultra thin MacBook Air.
Marchesa AW 08 Collection

On Wednesday, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig presented their new collection downtown at the Chelsea Arts Museum. Catherine and I went along to support them.
There was a huge amount of buzz around the collection - limos lined the street. Inside floor to ceiling drapes of pale grey fabric were used to create an intimate space where models posed on light-boxes and the guest walked through the dramatic spaces created.
The effect was an updated 1950’s couture salon feel - the dresses were beautifully crafted, the detail and make exquisite. I couldn’t help wonder which of these gowns would make it down the red carpet and worn by which celebrities.
These are the sort of dresses that would make most women feel like a star.

What The Front Row Are Talking About Today #3 Norwood

Norwood - the new private members club created by Alan Linn.
After a number of years running Blacks in London, Alan Linn has created a new home for New York’s creative talent to hang out.
Situated on 14th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue, Norwood is a welcome addition.
The interior has been created by Modus’ old friend and collaborator Simon Costin.
Backstage Nanette Lepore AW08

Nanette Lepore - Autumn/Winter 2008 - Bryant Park - Wednesday 6th February
Nanette presented her Autumn / Winter 2008 collection. Catherine, Sarah and I were on hand to look after the Brits. Back stage Daisy Lowe filled us in on her recent move to New York and search for an apartment. In the front row was Lorraine Bracco - the Sopranos Shrink, John Slattery from Desperate Housewives but my favourite for all you Trekies was Captain Janeway - Kate Mulgrew.
The collection drew inspiration from the high society party girl -with Nanette’s signature tailoring, prints and evening dresses.
